Using written questions at a Singapore career panel
Confirm that the panel accepts written questions, submit one role-specific uncertainty without private work details, and keep any unanswered part for another suitable format.

The problem
You need a role-specific answer at a Singapore panel but do not want to use a microphone, and the listing does not explain other question channels.
Confirm a written route before relying on the panel
Look for a stated form, question card, app or moderated chat. If the listing does not name one, ask whether written questions are accepted and when they must arrive. Neither a panel title nor a registration form promises a private message route to its speakers. A lecture can be useful for learning while leaving a goal requiring a direct answer unresolved.
Write the role, task and missing decision
Prepare one question naming the work and what you need explained. For example: “For a junior reporting role, which checks should happen before a dashboard is shared, and who reviews unresolved entries?” Leave out your whole CV and unnecessary employer details. e2i’s coaching-preparation article recommends bringing clear goals and questions to an appointment; the same preparation can make your own panel question more focused, without establishing any panel’s submission rules.

Turn a fictional broad question into a usable one
Both questions are invented. “How do I succeed in tech?” leaves the moderator to choose the role and problem. “In the advertised support role, what information should a new starter collect before escalating a supplied issue?” identifies a narrower work question. If the speaker explains only escalation information, keep hiring criteria unanswered. The rewrite improves specificity; it does not guarantee selection or an individual response.
Record the answer’s actual scope
A moderator may combine questions or omit yours. Note what was answered, the speaker’s role and what remains open. If further discussion is explicitly allowed, ask whether a brief clarification is possible. Otherwise use another suitable session or individual guidance for personal circumstances. e2i describes booked advisory appointments separately; attendance at a public panel does not create one.

Choose a practical alternative if the channel is absent
An unsent question can still guide your reading or next search. Use Boardzip’s free career listings to look for the actual question format, then inspect its joining instructions. The small-group discussion companion covers another possible format. Missing written access is a reason to reconsider fit, not to disclose sensitive material publicly or assume that a speaker’s personal inbox is available.
Questions and answers
Must I explain why I prefer written questions?
You can simply ask which channels exist. Share personal reasons only when you want to and they help arrange participation.
Can I ask about a confidential workplace issue?
Use an invented scenario or material you are explicitly permitted to share. Removing identifiers or making a scenario sound neutral does not establish permission to disclose the underlying work. Sensitive work issues need authorised channels.
Does submitting a question mean the panel will answer it?
No. Selection, time and moderation remain with the programme. Record the part actually answered and keep the rest open.
What if only one part of my question is answered?
Retain the original question and the specific reply. Choose a permitted clarification or another suitable route for the remaining issue rather than extending the reply into a hiring or career judgment.
